Engadine's Old Mill Pond, under construction!
by Julie Freeman
Back to Engadine's page
Plans are to put stone from the East side, where there is one of two
man made islands, along the shore, to the South West
corner, where another island is located.
A wood chip walk way and arched bridge, will go from the main land to the
island, this will make a wonderful setting for a picnic on the
island or a romantic, fun canoe ride around the islands and pond.
A unique shaped pavilion is in the plans and will be
placed near the South East side of the pond, along with picnic areas on the main
land and island.
This will take some time to complete, but it seems things are rolling along
great so far. Community help is welcome, especially to make this "Dream
Come True" , come true a little sooner then later !!
This community park will be a wonderful addition to the Engadine
Community. Many memories are being made, while this is under construction, and
many more will be added as friends and family gather for picnics, games, and
fun. Everyone will enjoy a nice quiet evening, watching the wildlife as they
also gather to enjoy the pond.
Keep an eye on this site for updates and photos, throughout the seasons!

This picture was taken by Julie Freeman at the Mill Pond in
Engadine. Notice the new gazebo . The gazebo is a wonderful addition to the new
Mill Pond Park in downtown Engadine.
The park is really looking great, the walk way is hard
packed and easy to walk on. The fall colors are so beautiful, especially in the
mornings when the sun is shining on the trees over the pond. The color won't
last much longer so you might want to get out for a stroll around the Old Mill
Pond.
